I can't believe it's been four months!

Four months today. I think I am so big!

Four month checkup. Look at the meat on those bones!

They just seem to have flown by but I also feel blessed for every minute I have spent with these sweet little babies. At their four month checkup up Lila and Logan weighed in at healthy 13 lbs 5 oz and 14 lbs 3 oz respectively. Anyone who remembers what a little tiny peanut Logan was will be happily surprised at how he has passed up his sister in weight if not height. We call him things like Meat ball and Pork Chop if that gives you any idea of his thickness. Lila definitely has her chubby little thighs and arms but has been getting a little leaner and has a defined neck!

We are really enjoying this stage even though it is hard to see the newborn phase wave goodbye. They are laughing and babbling and want to stand up all the time, especially Logan who has freakishly strong legs. He has been trying to stand up since about 5 or 6 weeks. They light up when we come into the nursery to get them out of bed or come back into a room and it melts my heart and even Tom's, tough guy that he is.

Logan has turned out to be our "chill boy". He just sits and watches the world and waits for you to look at him so that he can break out his open mouthed full face grin. Lila is so full of curiosity just like she came out of the womb. Always looking around seeing what is new, getting bored and yelling if we leave her with the same view for too long. She plays hard and crashes hard. When she naps she is out cold while Logan wakes up every hour or half hour with his ehh cry (he sounds Italian) for a binkie. When she cries it is an all out hysterical scream fest and his is more a marathon of very sad sounding complaints.

They are so different but amazingly are on a very good schedule together which has saved my sanity. I can't thank my "sleep Nazi" Jen enough for keeping me tough on the napping and sleeping schedule and for stretching their feedings by staying up with them for a week when they were six-seven weeks. By ten-twelve weeks we were getting 5 or 6 hours at a time. For about six weeks they have been sleeping from 8-11 hours in a stretch. Their bedtime is a little early 6:30 or 7:00 but they go right back to sleep if they wake up around four to eat and some mornings are even sleeping until six. Yeah for sleep!

It is still exhausting taking care of two but I have never done anything more full of joy in my life. By the end of the day my legs just can't make it up another flight of stairs to put another binkie in but I never get tired of seeing their faces. I look forward to every morning.

My Lupus has done amazingly well. For the first three months I felt great. It wasn't until we really started getting sleep that I got the first flare-up. It has been a rough month physically but I'm grateful that I held up through the toughest part. Anyone who has known me a long time knows my body only falls apart when it gets a break and the "crisis mode" is over.

I could talk about them forever, especially since It's been so long but I'll just add some pics and wrap this up.

Janae! Wow, they are so dang cute. Those photos make me want to reach out and squeeze their chunky little legs. Chunky babies are my favorite. Congrats on getting them on a good sleep schedule... that's HUGE.

Great pictures Janae, always love to see updates. You know I adore your babies, it was great to see you all at MA's she-bang. Perhaps we can get together once Wendie is settled...

They are adorable (and quite stylish)! Isn't funny how you love the stage they are at and don't want them to grow; then they do and you end up loving their new stage too. I love four months-personalities start to emerge. Enjoy!
